Two of the stamens long and exserted. Panicle loose. Corolla red changing to purple-blue, 20–30 mm long. Leaves sparingly scabrous; basal leaves ovate, up to 30 cm long, with prominent lateral veins; cauline leaves up to 9 cm long, oblong to lanceolate, cordate at the base.
