Disphyma crassifolium (L.) L.Bolusclavellatum (Haw.) Chinnock

Prostrate to decumbent, perennial shrub with erect or ascending leafy shoots up to 50 cm high. Leaves opposite, succulent, linear, 2–5 cm long, 2–3 mm wide, triangular in cross section, with concave faces. Flowers solitary, 2–3 cm diam. Perianth segments with scarious margins. Petaloid staminodes linear, yellow-white, as long as or exceeding the perianth segments. Styles 5. Fruit a capsule with 5 woody valves. Coastal headlands
