Dichopogon

Erect herbs up to 1 m high. Leaves flat, basal, 1–3 cm long, 3–5 mm wide. Flowers in loose racemes or panicles, chocolate-scented. Perianth segments 6, blue-violet (rarely white), free, spreading, persistent but not spirally twisted after flowering. Stamens 6, with 2 small appendages immediately below the anthers; filaments glabrous. Ovary 3-locular; style simple. Fruit a globular capsule.
