Perennial herbs with creeping stems rooting at the node. Leaves entire, reniform, on petioles longer than the blade, often clustered at the rooting nodes. Flowers solitary, axillary, small. Corolla greenish yellow, 5–6 mm long or less, with a short tube. Stamens 5. Carpels 2, almost free; styles 2; each with a capitate stigma. Fruit a 2-lobed irregularly 2-valved capsule.
