Spikes globular to ovoid on the ends of slender rays. Spikelets linear-terete, 5–8 mm long. Glumes narrow, closely appressed, striate. Nut brown, closely embraced by the wings of the rhachilla Glumes 3–3.5 mm long, green on the keel and yellowish-green on the sides, with 4–5 nerves on either side. Spikes c. 15–40 mm long. Herbs with short rhizomes. Woronora Plateau
