Shrubs. Leaves alternate, simple or palmately compound; stipules present or absent; stipellae absent. Flowers in terminal racemes. Calyx 5-toothed, sometimes 2-lipped. Petals yellow, often with brownish markings; keel curved to form a beak wrapped around the stamens. Stamens connate into a tube open on the upper side. Style with a line of hairs on the inside, pushing the pollen out of the beak of the keel when the wings are depressed. Legume inflated.
