Commersonia fraseri J.Gay

Tall, erect shrub with tomentose young branches. Leaves cordate to ovate-lanceolate, 7–15 cm long, often acuminate, glabrous or lightly pubescent on upper surface, white-tomentose underneath; margins irregularly dentate, rarely lobed. Flowers 8–10 mm diam., often numerous, whitish, in loose cymose panicles sometimes corymbose. Calyx lobes spreading, c. 4 mm long. Petals c. as long as the calyx lobes. Stamens 5. Staminodes 3-lobed as long as the petals. Ovary 5-locular. Capsule c. 2 cm diam., with soft hairy bristles. Widespread except higher Blue Mts River banks; near RF; on more fertile, cleared land.
