14 species in Aust.; all states and territoriesTwiners, parasitic on other plants. Leaves reduced to minute scales. Flowers small, bisexual, regular, white. Perianth segments 6, in 2 whorls, persistent. Stamens 9, perigynous, with glands at the base; anthers opening by valves. Ovary superior, 1-locular, 1-carpellary, with a solitary basal ovule. Fruit a berry enveloped in the enlarged floral tube but free from it.
