Glabrous, herbaceous, perennial climber, producing tubers on roots and stems. Leaves thick, fleshy, alternate, cordate, 4–13 cm long; petioles compressed, 25 mm long; stipules absent. Flowers small, fragrant, numerous in axillary drooping racemes 7–13 cm long. Pedicels with a small subulate bract at the base and 2 small ovate bracteoles at the base of the flower. Perianth segments 5, white. Stamens 5. Stigmas 3. Ovule solitary. Coast and adjacent plateaus. Waste land in suburbs, gullies, and margins of RF. Introd. from S. America. Lamb’s Tails or Madeira Vine
