Palea lanceolate to elliptic, acute, distinctly exceeding the sinus of the lemma. Lateral lobes of the lemma often twice as long as the body. Central awn of the lemma scarcely twisted. Spikelets with c. 6 florets. Glumes subequal 8–13 mm long. Densely tufted perennial up to 70 cm high. Cumberland Plain. Grasslands and open forests. Fl. summer–autumn
