Branching annual 5–20 cm high, slightly pubescent. Leaves ovate, c. 5 mm long, acute. Flowers on slender pedicels in terminal cymes. Sepals 5, acute, c. 3 mm long. Petals much shorter, ovate, entire, white. Capsule c. as long as the calyx, opening by 6 narrow valves. Widespread. Weed in sandy soils. Almost cosmop.. Fl. spring–summer. Thyme-leaved Sandwort
