Annual or perennial herbs with white tomentum. Leaves basal or alternate. Heads campanulate to hemispherical, solitary, pedunculate. Involucral bracts in 3–5 rows. Ray florets in 1 row, neuter, ligulate. Disc florets tubular, bisexual. Cypselas ribbed. Pappus of scales, sometimes minute.
