15 species endemic to Aust.; Qld, NSW, Vic.

Trees or shrubs. Mature leaves opposite. Flowers in cymes arranged in terminal corymbs. Sepals 4 or 5, persistent. Petals 4 or 5, white-cream, spreading, free. Stamens numerous, free, arranged in several whorls. Ovary 3–4-locular. Fruit a usually ribbed capsule surmounted by the persistent calyx teeth. Seeds 1–few per loculus.
