Leaves mostly basal, ternately dissected; petioles up to 12 cm long, usually longer than the blades
Leaves up to 15 mm long, finely dissected, usually twice tripartite, glabrous; the ultimate segments acute. Peduncles slender, axillary, much shorter than the leaves. Bracteoles green. Perennial herb up to 15 cm high with a woody rootstock. Blue Mts; Illawarra district. Wet heath; swamps. Fl. spring–summer Xanthosia dissecta
Leaves more than 20 mm long, 3-partite; segments cuneate, 3-partite, acute, thin, wiry. Peduncles stout, up to 18 cm long. Flowering stems wiry, almost leafless. Bracteoles white. Erect perennial herb up to 60 cm high with a woody rootstock. Blue Mts DSF. Fl. spring–summer Xanthosia atkinsoniana
