Cypselas ribbed on the surface, 4–5 mm long; the lower part with slender appressed 2-fid hairs. Leaves with scanty septate hairs on the margins and midrib on the lower surface, 10–50 mm long. Involucre 6–9 mm long. Ray blue to purple. Leaves entire or with 2 narrow spreading lateral lobes slightly above the middle. Leaves almost lacking from the peduncles. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands. Fl. spring–summer Vittadinia muelleri
