Flowers solitary in the axils of the upper leaves. Calyx c. 4 mm long when in flower. Corolla light blue, longer than the calyx. Leaves ovate, crenate-dentate, 8–20 mm long. Capsule compressed, 2-lobed, 7–8 mm wide. Widespread. Weed of cultivation and waste places. Introd. from Europe and W. Asia. Fl. spring–summer Veronica persica
