Capsule narrowed into a basal stipe. Outer sepals almost as long as the petaloid ones. Filaments free above the middle. Plant with woody base and erect almost leafless stems up to 60 cm high. Widespread. Wet sandy soil. Fl. summer Comesperma defoliatum
