Flowers 3–6 mm long few to several in short lateral racemes. Herb up to 15 cm high, often woody at the base. Leaves elliptic to ovate, 5–15 mm long, conspicuously reticulate. Outer sepals broad-elliptic, c. 5 mm long. Petals purplish. Coast and Cumberland Plain. Grassland. Uncommon. Fl. spring–summer Polygala japonica
