Laminas of intermediate involucral bracts as long as or longer than the claws. Heads usually solitary (rarely 2–8 on the same scape). Leaves basal and cauline; the lowest largest, up to 20 cm long and 2 cm wide. Involucres up to 3 cm diam. Florets yellow. Ray florets 30–40; rays up to 25 mm long, c. 2.5 mm wide. Pappus c. 10 mm long. Perennial up to 80 cm high. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands. Fl. summer Podolepis jaceoides
