Flowers solitary, on a peduncle which scarcely exceeds the leaves. Petals 25–30 mm long, pink or white with yellow base. Plants usually with long whitish hairs except on the upper surface of the leaflets. Leaflets suborbicular, 1–4 cm across. Garden escape near habitation. Introd. from S. Africa. Fl. winter–spring.
