Leaves narrow-linear, up to 1 mm wide, with recurved-divergent tips, ± terete, mostly c. 10 mm long, with no prominent veins. Staminal claw 4–6 mm long; filaments attached towards the top. Flower spikes 2–4 cm long. Capsules with undulate orifices, c. 3 mm diam., in oblong clusters. Shrub up to 2 m high, with hard bark. Coast and adjacent plateaus. Open forests on WS.
