Branches almost glabrous. Leaves oblong to oblong-lanceolate, not broader towards the base, 5–30 mm long. Whorls 3-flowered in leaf axils. Calyx 3–4 mm long; teeth triangular, sometimes acuminate. Corolla white or pink. Dense, rhizomatous herb with ascending to prostrate branches. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands on loams and clays. Fl. most of the year.
