Corolla tube much less than twice as long as the sepals, with 5 glandular scales below the middle. Filaments not flattened Melichrus
Leaves with scattered long hairs on lower surface, ciliate, flat, finely pointed but not pungent, 12–25 mm long. Calyx broadly campanulate, 10–12 mm diam. Corolla scarcely as long as the calyx; the tube very short and broad. Flowers facing the ground on the underside of the branches, producing large amounts of nectar. Coast and adjacent plateaus; lower Blue Mts Heath. Sandy soils. Fl. winter–spring. Jam Tarts Melichrus procumbens
