Petals less than 18 mm long, bluish pink. Leaves broad-ovate, 3–10 mm long, sometimes to 20 mm; petiole up to 12 mm long. Sepals not inflated in the fruiting stage or only slightly so. Mericarps smooth or with a very few ridges with rounded angles between the dorsal and lateral faces. Weed of gardens and waste ground. Introd. from the Mediterranean. Fl. spring–summer Malva linnaei
