Plants erect, up to 30 cm high, perennial, sometimes flowering in the first year, usually much branched near the base. Leaves 4–10 mm long, linear-lanceolate to oblong or elliptic; margins recurved. Calyx broadly campanulate, 2–3 mm long. Corolla tube broad, c. as long as the calyx; lobes spreading, as long as the tube. Peduncles terminal, simple or sparingly branched, bearing an irregular umbel of 3–5 flowers on filiform pedicels. Widespread. Heath. Sandy soils. Fl. spring–summer Mitrasacme polymorpha
Plants prostrate or procumbent or ascending from creeping stems. Leaves orbicular to ovate-lanceolate, often ciliate, obtuse, 3–6mm long. Stems ± hirsute with rigid hairs. Corolla lobes much shorter than the tube; tube bearded inside. Pedicels to 10 mm long, lengthening to 15 mm in fruit. Wet heath; rocks near waterfalls. Fl. spring–summer. (M. pilosa ssp. stuartii may occur in south of region. It has a pedicel up to 40 mm long) Mitrasacme pilosapilosa
