Swamp plants, submerged or exposed or growing on wet ground. Flowers on erect scapes with or without scale leaves. Corolla blue to purple or white. Leaves basal, linear to linear-spathulate or ovate, often minute, usually absent at flowering time Upper corolla lip not deeply 2-lobed Corolla lips both 2-lobed; spur longer than the lower lip; whole corolla 6–8 mm long, dark blue. Flowers on slender pedicels in a simple or slightly branched raceme 15–30 cm high. Tending to blacken on drying. Coast and adjacent plateaus. Wet ground. Fl. summer Utricularia biloba
