Involucral bracts subulate, straw-coloured to yellow. Involucre usually 2–3 cm diam., broadly hemispherical. Leaves narrow-lanceolate, up to 10 cm long. Heads solitary on almost leafless peduncles. Cypselas glabrous, 2–3 mm long. Pappus hairs 5 mm long. ± woody plant up to 80 cm high. Widespread. DSF and WSF, often on heavy soils. Fl. spring Helichrysum collinum
