Leaflets toothed or lobed but not dissected more than half way to the main vein. Beak 3–4 cm long. Mericarp with a pit underlined by 1–2 grooves on each side of the base of the awn; the pit with some large glandular hairs. Widespread. Waste places and pastures. Introd. from the Mediterranean.
