Aerial stems less than 15 cm long, usually without scale-like leaves
Cross-section of occluded region of leaf just above the sheath biconvex with two short projections on the adaxial edge
Leaf sheath distinctly different from the lamina, with an acute keel; lamina sometimes glaucous, 4–12 mm wide. Perianth segments dark blue to violet. Filaments yellow. Anthers brown to black. Tufted or mat-forming perennial up to 80 cm high. Widespread in a variety of situations but not in RF Dianella revolutarevoluta
