Main rhachis yellowish white or straw yellow or red-brown or light to dark brown, smooth or with scattered brown or orange-brown tubercles, usually almost glabrous. Rhizome 1–3 mm diam. Plants 30–90 cm high. Widespread. Along creeks or in swampy land in open forest, at edge of RF or in open pasture Hypolepis muelleri
Secondary rhachises, coastae, costules and minor veinlets densely clothed with crisped, septate hairs a number of which have glandular apical cells
