Leaves covered with fine silvery hairs, glandular hairs often present but small and hidden by the silky hairs, greyish-green, up to 25 cm long and 15 mm wide. Partial heads with 5–9 florets, yellow. Cypselas 1–1.5 mm long. Pappus up to 4 mm long. Herb up to 50 cm high. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands. Fl. spring–summer Craspedia canens
