Staminodes yellow but becoming flesh-coloured with age. Leaves with all faces slightly concave, almost equilateral, 4–8 cm long, 4–7 times as long as wide; keel denticulate to serrulate at least above the middle. Perianth segments densely dotted almost to the membranous margin. Flowers 7–8.5 cm diam. Fruit often wider than long, yellowish. Near the sea and often in railway enclosures. Introd. from S. Africa. Staminodes purple to deep pink. Leaves with slightly convex to flat lateral faces; keel smooth or denticulate only at the apex.
