Shrubs or trees 2–4 m high. Young shoots not silvery. Filaments white to yellow
Rhachis of the spike densely tomentose to pubescent. Leaves lanceolate, 2–3.5 cm long, 6–8 mm wide, acute or slightly acuminate; veins distinct underneath. Spike c. 3.5 cm long; bracts and bracteoles often persistent until the flowers open. Shrub 2–3 m high with papery bark. Woronora and Hornsby Plateaus. Uncommon. On shale and in RF gullies. Rhachis of the spike glabrous or minutely pubescent, sometimes with some long villous hairs just below the floral tube
