Leaves lanceolate 6–12 mm wide, 3–7 cm long, usually with a distinct rigid mucro. Spike 5–12 cm long. Filaments red to lilac, 20–25 mm long. Capsule 6–7 mm diam. Shrub 1–3 m high. Widespread. Damp places. Fl. spring–early summer. Common Red Bottlebrush or Lemon Bottlebrush Callistemon citrinus
