Leaves lobed, lyrate, toothed, mostly basal, oblanceolate, up to 25 cm long and 6 cm wide, toothed; upper surface glabrous or pubescent but not white-tomentose. Rays yellow, purplish to greenish below, 15–25 mm long. Disc florets very dark purplish. Annual herb with a rosette of leaves; peduncles up to 30 cm high. Widespread. Leaves entire or slightly toothed, white tomentose on both surfaces; lamina ovate, up to 6 cm long and 5 cm wide; petiole up to 8 cm long. Rays yellow, 5–7 mm long. Disc florets yellow.
